From Crisis to New Life: “Mother’s Home” is Changing the Fate of Mothers and Children in Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan, the network of “Mother’s Home” resource centers, aimed at supporting women in crisis situations, is rapidly expanding. These homes are based on the Kazakhstan model, recognized by the UN as a best practice in preventing social orphanhood.
On November 27, a meeting of the project’s Board of Trustees was held in Tashkent. Leading entrepreneurs in the country, including Kapital Bank, ERG, Korzinka.uz, AKFA Group, MY FREIGHTER, Merganteks, ENERGORESURS, BI Group, and other major companies discussed expanding the “Mother’s Home” network across Uzbekistan.
The strategic goal of the initiative is ambitious but clear: every woman in crisis should receive timely support, and every child should grow up in a loving family, not within institutional walls, creating a “Central Asia without Orphans” region.
For reference: currently, 7 “Mother’s Homes” operate in 6 cities in Uzbekistan. In the past year and a half alone, 133 women have received support here, and 146 children have remained with their mothers, preventing family separation.
